Our Home Education Programme is specially crafted for children aged 12 and up, offering a unique opportunity to learn professional techniques while creating beautiful, wearable art.

Whether your child dreams of becoming a jewellery designer or simply wants to explore their creativity, this course promises hands-on learning and plenty of fun! Available at NICOL Studio or in the comfort of your own home if required due to access restrictions or mental health reasons.

Programme Highlights

Duration: 6 weeks

Age Range: 12+

Focus: Metalsmithing, jewellery design, and creative exploration

Projects: Project research, rendering techniques and metalsmithing

Design Skills: Sketch and plan projects with confidence.

What Your Child Will Learn

Weekly Breakdown

Week 1: Doodle Time!

Children will be inspired by global jewellery styles and doodle their very own designs. Learn jewellery rendering techniques to elevate their doodles which will soon be brought to life!

Week 2: Textured Keyring

Saw, Hammer and texture metal to create a keyring.

Week 3: Secret Scroll Pendant

Explore adding stamped or textured patterns, initials & messages to metal.

Week 4: Textured Cuff with Patina

Create a bold cuff bracelet and experiment with patinas to add character and depth.

Week 5: Layered Pendant with Riveting

Combine layers of textured metal using rivets to create a moveable, dynamic pendant.

Week 5: Soldered Ring

Discover soldering basics and craft their first ring in sterling silver!

Week 6: Final Finish

Refine creations to a professional standard using polishing and finishing methods. Discuss metalsmithing journey, reflect on achievements, new skillset and how awesome it was they got to play with metal and fire!
